„Party? Muss das jetzt sein?“ „Ja!“, sagt Alexander Dettke. Er hat 2013 mit seinem Team das Musik- und Kultur-Festival „Wilde Möhre“ in der Lausitz gegründet. Einen Raum, der Begegnung frei von den Konventionen des Alltags möglich macht. Dabei geht es nicht nur ums Tanzen und Feiern. Es geht um einen Ort, der zur Veränderung inspiriert.

Mit Beginn der Pandemie steht dieses kulturelle Experiment vor dem Aus. Das will Alex aber nicht akzeptieren.

Für den Film haben die Macher den Festivalchef Alexander Dettke und sein Team vom ersten Lockdown 2020 bis zum Sommer 2021 mit der Kamera begleitet. Eine Zeit voller Unsicherheiten, außergewöhnlicher Begegnungen und vieler Gedanken über den Wert, den Musik, Tanz, Kultur für uns alle hat - nicht nur an sorglosen, sondern vor allem auch an düsteren Tagen.

A space that makes encounters possible without the conventions of everyday life. It's not just about dancing and partying. It's about a place that inspires change.

With the onset of the pandemic, this cultural experiment is about to come to an end. But Alex doesn't want to accept that.

For the film the makers accompanied festival director Alexander Dettke and his team from the first lockdown 2020 to the summer of 2021. A time full of uncertainties, extraordinary encounters and many thoughts about the value that music, dance and culture has for all of us - not only on carefree but especially on gloomy days.
