BABYLON ORCHESTER BERLIN

Durch die Kooperation mit dem BABYLON ORCHESTER BERLIN ist das BABYLON wieder ein authentisches Stummfilmtheater, wie es in den 1920er Jahren üblich war – und es ist weltweit wieder das erste Kino mit einem Orchester.

Das Orchester wurde 2019 gegründet, besteht aus 35 professionellen Orchestermusiker:innen und wird von international erfahrenen Stummfilmdirigenten wie BEN PALMER, STEFANOS TSIALIS, GEORGE MORTON, , NEFELI CHADOULI , MIGUEL PÉREZ IÑESTA, GÜNTER BUCHWALD geleitet.

Seit dem Gründungsjahr 2019 spielen wir mit dem BABYLON ORCHESTER BERLIN mehr als 70 ausverkaufte Vorstellungen jährlich, für ein Publikum von mehr als 35.000 Personen.

Seit Juli 2021 spielen wir wieder durchschnittlich 6-10 Aufführungen monatlich.

Nirgendwo anders gibt es diese Häufigkeit von Stummfilm-Live-Aufführungen mit Orchester. Dieses Alleinstellungsmerkmal ist aus dem Berliner Kulturleben nicht mehr wegzudenken.

Thanks to the cooperation with the BABYLON ORCHESTER BERLIN , the BABYLON is once again an authentic silent film theatre as it was in the 1920s - and it is once again the first cinema in the world with an orchestra.

The orchestra was founded in 2019, consists of 35 professional orchestra musicians and is conducted by internationally experienced silent film conductors such as BEN PALMER, STEFANOS TSIALIS, GÜNTER BUCHWALD, GEORGE MORTON, , NEFELI CHADOULI , MIGUEL PÉREZ IÑESTA.

Since its foundation in 2019, the BABYLON ORCHESTER BERLIN has given more than 70 sold-out performances a year for an audience of more than 35,000 people.

Since July 2021, we have been giving an average of 6-10 performances a month.

Nowhere else can you find this frequency of live silent film performances with orchestra. This unique selling point has become an integral part of Berlin's cultural life.
