Theo, the lead singer of a Nazi band, is about to play the most important concert of his career. But then he is involved in a serious car accident. The driver of the car is Mahmoud, who is about to be prospected for German citizenship. Mahmoud panics and, fearing the possible consequences, commits a hit-and-run. In hospital, Theo is diagnosed with a particularly severe form of ‘foreign language accent syndrome’; he is suddenly only able to speak Arabic. Ironically, Mahmoud becomes his doctor. Theo tries to blackmail Mahmoud into teaching him German. Otherwise, Theo threatens to report Mahmoud to the police, which would jeopardise his future citizenship. Suddenly Theo's band turns up at the hospital and the situation spirals out of control.

Theo, der Leadsänger einer Nazi-Band, steht kurz vor dem wichtigsten Konzert seiner Karriere. Doch dann wird er in einen schweren Autounfall verwickelt. Der Fahrer des Autos ist Mahmoud, der kurz vor seiner Einbürgerung steht. Mahmoud gerät in Panik und begeht aus Angst vor den möglichen Konsequenzen Fahrerflucht. Im Krankenhaus wird bei Theo eine besonders schwere Form des „Fremdsprachen-Akzent-Syndroms“ diagnostiziert; er kann plötzlich nur noch Arabisch sprechen. Ironischerweise wird Mahmoud sein behandelnder Arzt. Theo versucht, Mahmoud zu erpressen, damit dieser ihm Deutsch beibringt. Andernfalls droht Theo damit, Mahmoud anzuzeigen, was seine Einbürgerung aufs Spiel setzen würde. Plötzlich taucht auch noch Theos Band im Krankenhaus auf, und die Situation gerät außer Kontrolle.

The young director Tomáš Vynikal arrives at a Roma ghetto in search of humanity. With an authentic approach, he finds true friendship, but also human corruption. Everything is kept in the dark when the city of Prerov sells the ghetto together with its inhabitants to a private company for the purpose of new housing construction. This company will only go so far to demolish part of the houses and end up insolvent. The work is also a picture of current social problems in the Czech Republic, where human dwellings are meaninglessly devastated. These inhabitants receive new rental flats from the state, thus another ghetto is being created and society is moving in a catch-22 circle. The film contains time spent from September 2010 to September 2020. The documentary is the feature debut of Tomáš Vynikal. This is a fully independent film without state nor commercial support. (880)

Der junge Regisseur Tomáš Vynikal begibt sich auf der Suche nach Menschlichkeit in ein Roma-Ghetto. Mit einem authentischen Ansatz findet er wahre Freundschaft, aber auch menschliche Korruption. Alles bleibt im Dunkeln, als die Stadt Prerov das Ghetto mitsamt seinen Bewohner*innen zum Zwecke des Neubaus von Wohnungen an ein privates Unternehmen verkauft. Dieses Unternehmen geht nur so weit, dass es einen Teil der Häuser abreißt und schließlich insolvent wird. Das Werk ist auch ein Bild der aktuellen sozialen Probleme in der Tschechischen Republik, wo menschliche Behausungen sinnlos verwüstet werden. Diese Bewohner*innen erhalten vom Staat neue Mietwohnungen, so entsteht ein weiteres Ghetto und die Gesellschaft bewegt sich in einer Zwickmühle. Der Film umfasst die Zeitspanne von September 2010 bis September 2020. Der Dokumentarfilm ist ein abendfüllendes Debüt von Tomáš Vynikal. Es handelt sich um einen völlig unabhängigen Film ohne staatliche oder kommerzielle Unterstützung.
