MICHELANGELO ANTONIONI
25. Februar - 12. März
The only director to have won the Palme d'Or, the Golden Lion, the Golden Bear and the Golden Leopard.
Considered one of the greatest filmmakers of the post-war period, amidst production difficulties and despite public incomprehension he achieved international recognition with The Cry Il grido(1957) and The Adventure L`avventura(1960), the latter winning the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
This was followed by La notte(1961), L`Eclisse (1962), Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and Deserto rosso/ Red Desert (1964), Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
Beginning with Blow Up (1966), winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1967, and Professione: reporter (1975), filmed in English, he deepened his search for formal innovations, in an attempt to represent, not only narratively, the conflicts of the individual grappling with an increasingly elusive reality.
