Videoart at Midnight #116: Ahmet Ögüt, big cinema hall
Eintritt frei | admission free

Ahmet Öğüt’s performances, films, photographs and installations are light on their feet. They are works that combine the private with the public and only unfold their critical potential on closer inspection. Behind the apparent serenity lies a thoroughly serious, analytical view of one’s own political, social and cultural environment. Their shortcomings are exposed, but at the same time they give rise to new ways of seeing and dealing with things. Thus, Ahmet Öğüt’s works often contain a spark of humour, a positive light-heartedness towards one’s own reality, which can be shaped in many ways.

Ahmet Öğüt will show:
Things We Count, 2008, 6 min
