Twenty-five years after the creation of the album Buena Vista Social Club, which brought Omara Portuondo and Cuban music as a whole back onto the world stage of music, New York Cuban Hugo Pérez portrays the music legend, who has a career spanning seven decades.

Coincidiendo con el 25 aniversario del mítico álbum “Buena Vista Social Club”, se rodó este cercano homenaje a la cantante de son y de boleros Omara Portuondo. Un acceso sin precedentes a la “novia del feeling” en el que la diva de 90 años presume, con inconfundible gracia y elegancia, de siete décadas como impulsora de la música afrocubana.

Como parte del documental, Hugo Pérez siguió a la cantante por Ciudad de México, Tokio, Nueva York y La Habana. También buscó declaraciones sobre Omara mediante entrevistas a músicos de renombre mundial como Diego el Cigala, Roberto Fonseca y Arturo O'Farrill.

El público conocerá las circunstancias de su nacimiento en el seno de una familia birracial, compuesta por una madre aristocrática española y un padre que era jugador de béisbol (Bartolo Portuondo), así como su trayectoria para convertirse en bailarina a los 17 años en el mundialmente famoso cabaret Tropicana.
