- Drei Episoden mit drei Musikern aus verschiedenen Epochen - 50er Jahre, 80er Jahre und die Jahrtausendwende - die alle mit einem Jazz Club zu tun haben, der nun kurz vor seinem Abriss steht. Der Jazz stellt die Hintergrundfolie des Films dar, aber es ist kein Musikfilm, sondern ein Drama über die Schattenseite der Welt der Kreativität: über Neid, Eifersucht, Rassismus, Frustrationen durch verweigerte Anerkennung und über die Probleme, die mancher mit dem Talent seiner Mitmenschen hat.

- Das durch seine Schwarz Weiß Ästhetik hervorstechende Werk wurde 2019 im Ischia Film Festival (Italien) als bester Film ausgezeichnet. Der Soundtrack ehrt drei Größen der Jazzgeschichte: Charlie Parker, Jaco Pastorius und den Kubaner Emiliano Salvador, 1992 verstorbener Pianist und Schwiegervater des Regisseurs.

- Three episodes featuring three musicians from different eras – the 1950s, the 1980s and the turn of the millennium – all of whom are connected to a jazz club that is now on the verge of being demolished.
Jazz forms the backdrop to the film, but it is not a musical; rather, it is a drama about the dark side of the creative world – about envy, jealousy, racism, hopes and frustrations arising from a lack of recognition, and about the problems some people have with the talent of those around them.
The first story is about a highly talented child who has what it takes to win the country’s most prestigious music competition, but is up against another child from a wealthy family; the second tells of a famous but drug-addicted double bassist who has to fend off a malicious critic. The final story is about a young pianist who, in his small town, finds himself confronted by someone determined to ruin his career... - This film, which stands out for its black-and-white aesthetic, was awarded Best Film at the 2019 Ischia Film Festival (Italy). The soundtrack pays homage to three giants of jazz history: Charlie Parker, Jaco Pastorius and the Cuban Emiliano Salvador, a pianist who died in 1992 and was the director’s father-in-law.

- Club de Jazz se destaca por sus imágenes en blanco y negro. Aunque aviva la pasión por la música y el jazz, no es un musical sino más bien “un drama sobre la envidia, sobre el conflicto que tiene mucha gente con la gloria ajena, con el talento ajeno“(E. Insausti). El guion fragmenta su historia en tres relatos ambientados en diferentes épocas, vertebrados por las memorias de un club de jazz que será derribado en breve.
La primera historia, „Saxo alto“, narra la vida de dos niños en los años 50: uno de clase adinerada con un padre exigente que le obliga a estudiar el jazz y otro de origen humilde pero muy talentoso, criado por su abuelo. Mientras, el segundo cuento „Contrabajo con arco“ relata las vivencias de un bajista virtuoso con problemas de alcohol y drogas (a finales de losaños 80) que sufre el asedio de un crítico de arte. El último relato „Piano solo“, esboza las dificultades que deberá vencer un joven pianista para llevar adelante su carrera, la cual es destruida por otro más experimentado. „La tesis que sustenta cada relato es que la envidia, la más oculta e inconfesable de las emociones humanas, nunca es sana. O, siendo más absoluto, la envidia sana no existe“(E. Insausti).
