Colors of India: Preview: Yogi [OmeU] (Bengali/Hindi/English) IND 2026, R: Mohan Dylan Gray, 87 Min.

Yogi is the story of a visionary Indian who redefined the role of business in public life, becoming both the country’s longest-serving CEO as well as an outspoken critic of the prevailing economic order.  He stood up to champion the country’s natural environment, sustainable livelihoods and rural development long before any of his peers, and did so at a scale unparalleled anywhere in the world.

Director Statement

The story of Yogi Deveshwar is unexpected, moving and unique. I was approached for numerous films about business leaders after the breakout success of Bad Boy Billionaires, but this was the one which genuinely left me wanting to know more, inspired me and spoke so clearly to the special responsibilities business has in a country like India. It is easy to reap the benefits of a massive market, lax regulation and relatively inexpensive labour, but Yogi was singular in his determination to make Indian business a force for positive change impacting many millions of families, as well as the country’s natural environment, sustainably. The fact that he foresaw the profound impact of the employment and climate change crises decades before they became the acute areas of urgent need they are today only underscores the imperative for people, especially Indians, to learn about, and from, his pioneering work and ideas.
