Desde un punto imaginario en el centro de América, X500 conecta las historias de tres adolescentes que viven en Colombia, México y Canadá, unidos por la muerte, la migración y la necesidad de transformar sus vidas. Alex, un joven afrocolombiano, debe afrontar la pérdida de su hermano y regresar a Buenaventura. David, un indígena mazahua, migra a Ciudad de México y encuentra en la identidad punk una forma de enfrentar la discriminación. María, una adolescente filipina, llega a Montreal tras la muerte de su madre y se enfrenta a una realidad muy distinta de la que había imaginado. A través de sus caminos, la película explora tres duelos y distintas maneras de reconstruirse y seguir adelante.

From an imaginary point at the center of the Americas, X500 connects the stories of three teenagers living in Colombia, Mexico, and Canada, united by death, migration, and the need to transform their lives. Alex, an Afro-Colombian teenager, must face the loss of his brother and return to Buenaventura. David, an Indigenous Mazahua youth, migrates to Mexico City and finds in punk identity a way to confront discrimination. María, a Filipino teenager, moves to Montreal after her mothers death and encounters a reality very different from the one she had imagined. Through their journeys, the film explores three experiences of grief and different ways of rebuilding their lives and moving forward.

Von einem imaginären Punkt im Zentrum Amerikas aus verbindet X500 die Geschichten dreier Jugendlicher, die in Kolumbien, Mexiko und Kanada leben und durch Tod, Migration und das Bedürfnis nach Veränderung miteinander verbunden sind. Alex, ein afro-kolumbianischer Jugendlicher, muss den Verlust seines Bruders verarbeiten und nach Buenaventura zurückkehren. David, ein Angehöriger der indigenen Mazahua-Gemeinschaft, zieht nach Mexiko-Stadt und findet in der Punk-Identität einen Weg, sich gegen Diskriminierung zu behaupten. María, eine philippinische Jugendliche, zieht nach dem Tod ihrer Mutter nach Montreal und begegnet einer Realität, die ganz anders ist als ihre Vorstellungen vom Leben im Norden. Auf ihren Wegen erzählt der Film von drei unterschiedlichen Erfahrungen der Trauer und davon, wie jeder von ihnen einen Weg findet, das eigene Leben neu aufzubauen und weiterzugehen.
