Un Certain Regard (French: [œ̃ sɛʁtɛ̃ ʁəɡaʁ]; 'A Certain Glance')
is a section of the Cannes Film Festival's official selection. It is run at the salle Debussy, parallel to the competition for the Palme d'Or. This section was introduced in 1978 by Gilles Jacob.
The section presents up to 20 films with unusual styles and non-traditional stories seeking international recognition. We are showing 17 of these 20.

Every year, the world looks to Cannes. How does the No. 1 film festival reflect our world, which has been thrown off balance?
Art, politics and commerce stroll along the Boulevard de la Croisette. Palm trees, sea, croissants and savoir vivre.
And Berlin, our rough, dark, cold but also beloved Berlin, watches... watches the screen and is there!
Un Certain Regard (English: ‘A Certain Look’) is a section of the Cannes International Film Festival.
‘Un Certain Regard’ was introduced in 1978 by the then General Delegate of the Festival, Gilles Jacob, to promote films that were too ‘untypical’ for the main competition of the film festival and whose makers were therefore often little known. Up to 20 films are shown each year.
The Babylon was able to license the 17 best films from 2025, including the award winners.

Jedes Jahr schaut die Welt nach Cannes. Wie spiegelt das Nr.1 Filmfestival unsere aus den Fugen geratene Welt?
Kunst, Politik und Kommerz flanieren am Boulevard de la Croisette. Palmen, Meer, Croissants und savoir vivre.
Und Berlin, unser raues, dunkles, kaltes aber auch geliebtes Berlin, schaut zu... schaut auf die Leinwand und ist dabei!
Un Certain Regard (dt. „Ein gewisser Blick“) ist eine Sektion der Internationalen Filmfestspiele in Cannes.
"Un Certain Regard" wurde 1978 vom damaligen Generalbeauftragten des Festivals, Gilles Jacob, eingeführt, um Filme zu fördern, die zu „untypisch“ für den Hauptwettbewerb des Filmfestivals und deren Macher deswegen oft nur wenig bekannt sind. Bis zu 20 Filme jährlich werden gezeigt.
Das Babylon konnte die besten 17 Filme aus dem Jahrgang 2025 lizenzieren, darunter auch die Preisträger.
