Patrick is a warm, open 26-year-old living with schizophrenia, his life tightly regulated by medication and his obsessively devoted mother, Maura. When he loses his virginity and falls in love with Karen, a suicidal air hostess, everything shifts. Convinced the relationship is destructive, Maura tries to pull them apart, pushing the film into a tense portrait of love, control, and family dysfunction.
