Caccia alla volpe follows Aldo Vanucci, a notorious criminal known as "the Fox," after his escape from prison. He, along with his friends, hatches a plan to recover the "gold of Cairo". He poses as a film director, seduces a coastal village by convincing them he's chosen it as the filming location for his new movie, and uses this facade to stage the gold retrieval.
