There's a flurry of activity in the mayor's office of the small village of Vizuresti, north of Bucharest: Now they're supposed to procure pigeons! White ones, mind you. Yet flags have already been hung on every corner, cow dung has been scraped from the streets, the village youth have been memorizing poems, and the sheep have been brought down from the mountain pastures! And all this for a party visit that no one knows if it will even take place... Tales of the Golden Age provides an amusing insight into the control structures of the communist dictatorship and the people's sophisticated survival strategies.
Este o atmosferă agitată în primăria satului Vizuresti de la nord de București: Acum trebuie procurați porumbei! Atenție, să fie albi! La fiecare colt se puneau steaguri, se răzuia balega de vacă de pe stradă, tinerii din sat învăţau pe de rost poezii, iar oile erau coborâte de pe păşunile de munte! Și toate acestea pentru o vizită de partid despre care nimeni nu știe dacă va avea loc cu adevărat...
