José de los Santos lives in a town on the Colombian Pacific coast. Since he was little, he learned the arts of mortuary rituals inherited from his ancestors, former African slaves. One day the anima of his son Pium Pium announces his death, warning him that he should not die near his house and, above all, he should die in peace. José de los Santos begins a journey through the jungle to find a place to die. He must survive the weapons to avoid joining the souls of purgatory.

José de los Santos vive en un pueblo en el litoral del Pacífico colombiano. Desde pequeño aprendió las artes de los rituales mortuorios heredadas de sus ancestros, antiguos esclavos africanos. Un día, el ánima de su hijo Pium Pium le anuncia su muerte, advirtiéndole que no debe morir cerca de su casa y, sobre todo, debe morir en paz. José de los Santos inicia un viaje a través de la selva para encontrar un lugar donde morir. Debe sobrevivir a las armas para no sumarse a las ánimas del purgatorio.
