A farm in the middle of nowhere. A family living off hard labor. When a meteorite strikes one night, releasing a color never seen before, an ominous transformation slowly takes hold of the land. 

Illustrator Andreas Hartung retells H. P. Lovecraft’s short story “The Colour out of Space” as a dark visual show in five chapters, entirely without words. 

The band The Dunwich Orchestra, founded exclusively for this project, performs the atmospheric soundtrack live.  “The Colour out of Space” draws on the tradition of the classic silent film concert, combining hand-drawn illustration with post-rock-inspired live music to create an immersive, narrative experience.

Eine  Farm im Nirgendwo. Eine Familie, die von harter Arbeit lebt. Als eines Nachts ein Meteorit einschlägt, dem eine noch nie gesehene Farbe entweicht, ergreift schleichend eine unheilvolle Veränderung das Land. 

Illustrator Andreas Hartung adaptiert H.P. Lovecrafts Erzählung „The Colour out of Space” als düstere Bildershow in fünf Kapiteln, die komplett ohne Worte auskommt.

Die exklusiv für das Projekt gegründete Band „The Dunwich Orchestra“ spielt dazu live den atmosphärischen Soundtrack. „The Colour out of Space“ nimmt die Tradition des klassischen Stummfilm-Konzerts auf und verbindet handgezeichnete Illustration mit Postrock-artiger Livemusik zu einem atmosphärischen narrativen Gesamterlebnis.
